Introduction

A development by the Bracken Group to provide Poole Audi with a state-of-the-art, world-class car dealership covering an overall site area of just under 4 acres.

The Summit Business Park site provides Poole Audi with circa 60,000sq ft. of building area over two floors -  that is three times the size of their previous Poole Audi showroom, workshop and offices.

The new showroom is capable of displaying 24 new cars and there will be two HD display configuration rooms. The site also has capacity for 80 used cars and 325 service vehicle and storage spaces.

The new terminal also has over half an acre of rooftop parking for in excess of 100 cars, a 24-bay workshop alongside two MOT zones plus full valet and smart repair facilities with three hand over bays.

This development was handed over in July 2016, and opened its doors on 1st August 2016, it is the biggest Audi Terminal in the UK, and in fact, one of the largest in the world.

Project Highlights

We originally purchased this site several years ago and were immediately saw the potential, due to its location for passing business and excellent transport links.

The site was originally just under 5 acres, it included a tenant business selling motor caravans from a 1-acre position within the site. This was disposed of in our first two years of ownership. That then left us with an extra residual site of 3.98 acres. This had planning permission for a small car dealership and approximately 30,000 sq/ft of commercial units to the rear of the site.

The site was then marketed as a whole and we were soon approached with several interesting offers. Poole Audi's was the most interesting - as it required the whole 3.98 acre site to build a new Audi center.

Over the following months we entered into detailed discussions that led to a planning application being submitted and approved, we finalised the deal and started building in early 2015. The building was completed and approved by Audi’s own in-house architect, who described the new terminal building as one of the top 10 in the world.

We were very proud to have been involved with this scheme and it was a pleasure to have worked alongside Poole Audi and Ocean Automotive in the delivery of this fantastic facility.

I am delighted to finally conclude design, planning and development negotiations on the new Audi terminal and to bring such a significant employment opportunity into Poole in the form of the country’s largest Audi terminal, one that will serve Audi customers to the highest standard possible.

The actual experience of arriving at Poole Audi is to change dramatically as service, parts and MOT customers will drive into one of three lanes, where the environment is undercover and climate controlled. And if the customer elects to wait for work to be completed on their Audi, from the drive-in lanes they can choose between a large first class lounge – effectively a business centre where they are welcome to work from, or if their time is their own there is another less formal lounge with complimentary refreshments, a fully equipped gym and elaborate spa offering a wide range of treatments.
